Τα τριγλυκερίδια μέσης αλυσίδας (MCTs) είναι λίπη που βρίσκονται φυσικά στα έλαια καρύδας και φοινικοπυρήνων. Αφομοιώνονται πιο εύκολα και γρήγορα από άλλα είδη λιπών. Τα MCTs απορροφώνται εύκολα από το γαστρεντερικό σωλήνα και μεταβολίζονται πολύ γρήγορα από το ήπαρ, όπου αναφέρεται ότι ενθαρρύνουν τη χρήση λίπους για ενέργεια και όχι για αποθήκευση. Πολυάριθμες μελέτες υποδεικνύουν ότι η υποκατάσταση άλλων λιπών με έλαιο MCT σε μια υγιεινή διατροφή μπορεί επομένως να βοηθήσει στην υποστήριξη του υγιούς βάρους και της σωματικής σύνθεσης.

Προτεινόμενη χρήση

Λάβετε 1 κουταλιά της σούπας (15 mL) ημερησίως. Το έλαιο MCT μπορεί επίσης να χρησιμοποιηθεί ως υποκατάστατο των συμβατικών ελαίων σε σάλτσες για σαλάτες, σάλτσες ή μαγείρεμα. Δεν συνιστάται η χρήση στο τηγάνισμα λόγω του χαμηλού σημείου καπνού.
